Two threads ran through this month. Give teachers the whole class on one screen, and make the results easy to take out of Zippy and share. Here is what shipped in July. Every release post lives under the release tag; this is July's.

Added​

  • Reports builder. An AI-authored, editable analytics report for a class: performance and trait scores, with save, save-as-new, and Markdown export. You start from a draft and change what you would change.
  • The whole-class gradebook. A single grid of every student against every activity, with class averages and at-risk flags, plus a per-activity monitor so you can see a class set being marked in real time.
  • Native PDF and DOCX export. Export marked work, with feedback and annotations, as real documents a school can actually use. Stale rubrics can be re-run before export.

Changed​

  • Feedback split from scoring. Feedback now includes span-level annotations (corrections, praise, and a next step) written after the grade is known, so the comment always matches the score. Any single submission can be re-graded on its own.
  • CLI login moved to an email code. zippy login sends a six-digit code to your inbox and mints a workspace key. No browser round-trip.

Fixed​

  • Lesson generation no longer fails on a duplicate save id; it plans first, then generates.
  • The export path no longer crashes on activities with mixed question types.

Known gaps​

  • Handwriting transcription is tuned for English. Other languages are on the list.
  • The web app ships continuously and is not version-tagged. The version above is the open-source CLI and client SDK line, which does carry real tags.

Honest about what this is​

Every line here is about what the software does: it drafts, it grades a first pass, it annotates, it exports, it tracks patterns. We are not claiming a measured jump in results, because that is not ours to claim yet. What we can say is that the whole class now fits on one screen, and the marking leaves the tool in a form a school can use.
