Exporting student reports
Feedback only counts when it reaches someone. Once a set is marked, Zippy turns it into a document you can print, hand back, or attach to an email.

Open the activity you want to export
From Classes, open the class and choose Gradebook, then click any cell to land on that piece of marked work. You can also reach it from Grading.
Choose what to export
Open the More actions menu in the top right of the activity, then choose Export all. If you have selected specific students first, the option becomes Export selected, so you can send one student's report without producing the rest.
The export dialog shows how many submissions are included before you commit to anything.
Pick a format
Three formats, for three different jobs.
- PDF is the one to hand to a parent or print for a file. It looks the same everywhere.
- Word is the one to pick when you want to edit the report before it goes out, or paste it into a school template.
- Markdown is the plain-text option, useful if the report is going into another system.
Choose what goes in
Two toggles control the contents.
- Grading report is the marked work itself: the response, the scores against each criterion, the comment and the next steps.
- Skill details adds the per-skill breakdown from the rubric's skills list, which is what makes a report diagnostic rather than just a number.
Leave both on for a report that goes home. Turn skill details off for a quick score sheet.
One file, or one per student
One combined file produces a single document with every student in it, which is what you want for your own records or for a department head.
Separate file per student produces one document each, which is what you want when the reports are going out individually. The dialog tells you how many files you will get before you export.
Then export
Click Export. The file is generated and downloaded. Nothing is sent anywhere on your behalf: what happens to the report next is entirely up to you.
A note on what this is
The report contains the marks and feedback you have approved. Zippy does not email parents, and it does not publish anything. It produces a document, and you decide who sees it.
